1. Your existence revives the kingdom, religion, and life
Your generosity revived glory and the sublime conduct

2. Your determination secured safety, prosperity, and guidance
Your resolve elucidated crises and spread abundant bounty

3. God granted you a blessed prosperous reign
You have enveloped us in justice and provided us ample care

4. Whenever a faction pained or hoped to pain you
You console the imploring and give respite to the weary

5. Have you not seen that fate yields submissively
To your will? None disobey nor gainsay you

6. So meet the festive day that comes to you with wishes
And the rising of a blessed fortune that endures with you

7. A farewell that bid live the one in the abode of acceptance
For fulfilling God's promise has come to pass

8. Come to kiss the hand of Joseph
He whose face is tidings and whose palm is watering

9. Indeed in God's cause, supporting His Prophet
Long live such sublime greetings, greet long live

10. A resolve that renewed religion after its dissension
And clothed it in the justice of his days and decree

11. And separated truth and doubt when they clashed
Following the ways of Al-Farooq in his guidance and course

12. His light made the horizons radiant
And his mention made lips fragrant with freshness

13. Ambition responded to his call and victory roared to his cries
He is the rain in munificence and the stars in ambition

14. The full moon in appearance and the midday sun in perception
If he guarded the turns of fate for a day with his army

15. He would make its eve forget its morn in oblivion
They are a people who upheld the faith in its beginnings

16. And with their swords defended its weakened pillar and frailty
They are a people who sacrificed souls as though

17. They were pouring in the meadow of strife honey and perfume
They are the seal of messengers, Ahmad

18. And they supported revelation, truth, and inspiration
Full moons to the questioner or oceans to the asker

19. So which of them would you meet but find most radiant?
So from Adham his Messiah clothed

20. Him in a robe the color of velvet, wrapped purple
And from Ashqar fleeter than lightning outstripping the breeze

21. And from Ashhab flowing the garb of darkness in effusion
And from red Ahmad beneath armor as though

22. A glow of sunset dissolving in the darkened night
And from Ashhal the stallion whose redness

23. Was caressed when passions were stirred into fervor
And the noble Aṣfar whose ornaments were brightened

24. With the strings of night adorned with pearls
A people like notches splitting through mountains

25. Pouring forth from their strongholds in throngs
It is sacrilege that their shirts outpace them

26. Even if they seek the sedentary and weak
They carry not fire distrusting it

27. Its braziers summoning spark and flame
The imaginations of their minds in adversity

28. Are dreams of captivity fulfilled in their visions
Indeed in God's cause your conduct

29. That faith proclaims, "come to life," "long live"
You have illuminated the world so its face shone

30. When before it was of frowning blindness
So how many triumphs publicly proclaimed for God

31. And how many subtle mercies distributed
And how many dark sorrows you have clarified

32. Calling for God's victory though none responded
And how many a dune relied upon your victory

33. You dispatched though they know not fatigue or lassitude
Shaking the regions of your enemy with their foes

34. Vanquishing them in killing and disgracing them in humiliation
Until none remained but those their lids protected

35. Or the soft mustache and the smooth lip
The bending branch of the delicate twin palms

36. When it bent, bent for us a branch and glanced at us a gazelle
Opportunities passed between us and them

37. Becoming spoils for us and wailing for them
O wise sovereign whose justice encompassed

38. All the world's expanse, intricate the texts and jurisprudence
He whose word is decisive and whose decision guidance

39. And whose rule is rectitude by which he banished caprice
For some purpose God granted you the kingdom, born to rule

40. And you were guided from the cradle by the learned
So beneath you the forbearing pour out for its beauty

41. And the minds of listeners are captivated by it, captured
It enslaves the noble poetry however freely soaring its peak

42. It trails the train of glory from its flowing train
It folds the length of the tall and fells the lofty

43. The charm of rule trembles at its hearing like your hands trembling the Yemeni blade
The fruits of a heart pure in its affection for you

44. The nights pass while it remains living
So you persist, most enduring of kings, immortalized

45. And steadfastest for God, purest star
Your satisfaction conveys the pleasure of the Divine

46. And loving you is a treasure in death and life
