أيا عمر العدل الذي مطل المدى

1. O Umar, embodiment of justice whose promise
Of guidance was fulfilled till the debt was paid

١. أيَا عُمَرَ الْعَدْلِ الَّذِي مَطَل الْمَدَى
بِوَعْدِ الْهُدَى حَتَّى وَفَيْتُ بِدَيْنِهِ

2. O strict wielder of power, ever ready
To fend off harm or for council arrayed

٢. وَيَا صَارِمَ الْمُلْكِ الَّذِي يَسْتَعِدُّه
لِدَفْعِ عِدَاهُ أَوْ لِمَجْلِسِ زَيْنِهِ

3. Your wakeful eye was shielded by God above
And guarded faith from the least shame and sting

٣. هَنَتْ عَيْنَكَ الْيَقْظَى مِن اللهِ عِصْمَةٌ
كَفَتْ وَجْهَ دِينِ اللهِ مَوْقِعَ شَيْنِهِ

4. For you are naught but religion, rule, and love
And truth gleams bright of any garbing

٤. وَهَلْ أَنْتَ إِلاَ المُلْكُ وَ الدِّينُ وَالدُّنَى
وَلاَ يُلْبَسُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ بِمَيْنِهِ

5. If your eye is struck by harm, in its vision
Tis Islam itself that is wounded within

٥. إِذَا نَالَ مِنْكَ الْعَيْنَ ضُرُّ فَإِنَّمَا
أُصيبَ بِهِ الإِسْلاَمُ فِي عَيْنِ عَيْنِهِ
