1. The virtues of the palm tree on the day of pride are such
That the old man and the boy are equal in them
١. مَزَايَا النَّخْلِ يَوْمَ الْفَخْرِ مِماَّ
تَسَاوَى الشَّيْخُ فِيهِ وَالْغُلاَمُ
2. And a gentle breeze blows upon the dwellings of Taybah
Bringing the palm tree peace and calm
٢. وَحَنَّ لِطَيْبَةٍ لِلنَّخْلِ طَيْفٌ
عَلَى حُجُرَاتِ سَاكِنِهَا السَّلاَمُ
3. Oh highest of judges, I ransom you my soul
The opponent has confessed, so ended is the dispute
٣. فَيَاقَاضِي الْقُضَاةِ فَدَتْكَ نَفْسِي
أَقَرَّ الْخَصْمُ فَارْتَفَعَ الْكَلاَمُ
