1. As though its horn were in the flat of his forehead,
An Indian sacrifice has come, walking on his feet.
١. كَأَنَّمَا قِرْنُهُ فِي صَفْح مُرْهَفِهِ
قُرْبَانُ هِنْدٍ أَتَى يَسْعَى عَلَى قَدَمِهْ
2. In the beginning of the affair His image appears through it,
And the fire prevails when it covers the brilliance of his blood.
٢. تَبْدُو بِهِ فِي مَبَادِئ الأَمْرِ صُورَتُهُ
وَتَغْلِبُ النَّارُ إِذْ يَكْسُو شُعَاعَ دَمِهْ
3. The sacrifice to the fire of India has remained, throughout time,
Believing that real existence lies in its annihilation.
٣. مَازَالَ قُرْبَانُ نَارِ الْهِنْدِ مُعْتَقَداً
فِي الدَّهْرِ أَنَّ الْوُجُودَ الْحَقَّ فِي عَدَمِهْ
