1. The days called me when we met
And they are the ones who never forget to awaken
١. نَادَتْنِيَ الأَيَّامُ عِنْدَ لِقَائِهِ
وَهْيَ الَّتِي لاَ تُغْفِلُ التَّنْبِيهَا
2. O son of the orator, you spoke with strong determination
And through it you attained your goal, the son of his father
٢. يَا ابْنَ الْخَطِيبِ خَطَبْتَ بِالْعَزْمِ الْعُلَى
فَبَلَغْتَ مِنْهَا الْقَصْدَ بِابْنِ أَبيِهَا
3. A face beaming and acquaintances bountiful
Generosity vast, and position eminent
٣. الْوَجْهَ طَلْقاً وَالْمَعَارِفَ جَمَّةً
وَالْجُودَ رَحْباً وَالْمَحَلَّ نَبِيهَا
4. His palm was adorned with scattered virtues
Do you see his rule which commands it
٤. أَثْرَتْ بِأَشْتَاتِ الْفَضَائِلِ كَفُّهُ
أَتَرَى وِلاَيَتَهُ التَّي تَجْبِيهَا
