1. God is with you in what you choose and decree
You who lent most generously when others would not

2. You who revived the law of His religion
Though most of its rules were neglected and lost

3. Without you, no meadows would fill with rain
No boughs would blossom with tender new leaves

4. No heart would find peace within a warm chest
No eyelid would know the sweetness of rest

5. And when enemies persisted in their defiance
You rose at God's command to bring them to heel

6. Upholding your sacred obligation to smite them
Relentlessly summoning others to join in the fight

7. You readied steeds from the noblest breed
Their bridles ring true with no jangle or clink

8. The blankets upon them gleam bright, freshly woven
As lightning illuminates the gloom before night

9. Rome's empire was shattered at their first charge
The wind itself racing behind them to push
