1. O mistress of the guarded house whose neighbor
Is the lofty minaret of honor,

2. Why does your heart not soften towards the love-lorn
While my heart finds no rest or repose?

3. You've distanced sleep from your eyelids
Until its night equals its day,

4. And alarmed the birds of slumber from visiting
So sleep no more soothes the eyes.

5. If you deny the passion in my heart
That finds refuge in the ribs' fold,

6. Then take the shedding tear as witness on my cheek
And ask the fleeting specter of its home.

7. But beware the sparks of conceit should you ask
For when you strike the flint its sparks will fly.

8. Woe to the one who rejects love unaware
That it hides its secrets from its masters.

9. If passion has weakened me, it is but
The craving of a sufferer in love like me.

10. What fault lies with the crazed lover
Whose heart bubbles with passion?

11. O epitome of beauty whom my heart
Takes for its target, my ribs its veil.

12. Gift me with the easiest union to revive
A heart fractured by love into pieces.

13. She said, having warned against my hopes,
"The doe cannot be blamed for her coyness."

14. "Be not fooled, I am but a woman
Allurement plays with prohibition teasingly.

15. Do you not see the king Son of Naser a lion
Though the Prophet's helpers were but carpenters?

16. A king who when disasters strike leaves injustice,
Islands dragged by his glory their mountains crumbled.

17. He aided the peninsula where no caller for help
Its calamities grim their claws bloodied.

18. He contained its harsh wars and disasters
With his majesty’s might and left hand.

19. When the wars of drought were impregnated from
Barrenness, its harm was costly,

20. And sustenance was reduced, its shadow narrowed,
And misery encompassed the souls besieged,

21. And the agitators roused turbulence
Pelting with rain whose fate was concealed,

22. Until they said “an astute kindled”
Its flames engulfing the sky blazed,

23. Its conjunction’s fire more scintillating than the sun’s ray
It is the one whose times were forecast,

24. Assuming the lair of the lion in its ruins
Saturn, while the beast of the jungle dreads its den,

25. And knowledge is God’s knowledge, most high His Majesty,
And the servant but grasps the limits of his perception.

26. So when the young man knows not the paths
How can others discern it?

27. While the stars resemble the morning breeze
And the night strips the horizon of its hems

28. And the dawn cuts through the horizon’s rupture
And the earth is a drop whose ends are concealed,

29. The clouds' convoys approached thickly
Their pouring crackling in the ground,

30. And the lightning’s gray has illuminated a witness
Challenged by the thunders’ sounds its procession.

31. They raided the land’s enemy in its stones
Until its embers were extinguished,

32. It took away its hills and plains
The clouds' downpour obliterating its traces,

33. The land's growth was shaken after its dormancy
Stirring and releasing its shackles,

34. And the meadow resumed receiving its youth
Baring after aging its virginity,

35. The basil donned a silken garb
Its pockets lined with flowers on its south,

36. The anemones crowned and graduated
In its bosom their blossoms,

37. Were it not for your standing for people’s sake
Your forgiveness would erase the mortal sins,

38. This address would not be of those fulfilled
Its storm embroiling the horizons,

39. O king, the aspired one, whose
Righteousness his Lord’s lore told,

40. Many are your stations with hearts agreeing
In awe, with the mountains’ boulders smitten,

41. In the swelling of an arduous mountain its wave
Foaming, and the beasts of prey in its valleys growling,

42. The sword blades were fascinated with you in the dark
And the pits of evil with your strings filled,

43. You drew from the spears’ flames resolutions
In dire straits beyond the intellect’s guile,

44. Never can a skeptic deny your glorious merit
For supremacy is a sign and your pride its flame,

45. You steered the wheel of politics rightfully
Splitting the night of ordeals with daylight,

46. If the caliphate’s land became a mine
The people are its soil, and you its blossoms,

47. No wonder your feats rose like stars
For guidance is a sphere revolving around you.

48. You adorned it and protected its corners
For you are truly its wall and bracelet.

49. You descendants of devout worshippers, pride of your ancestors
Is aligned with the Furkān’s pages,

50. Victory is but a word of which you are the meaning
And religion a meadow which you illuminate,

51. Clemency is an instant you are its eyelids
And knowledge a heart you are its light,

52. The prophecy’s victory resides with you
It is the soft breeze while you are its fragrance,

53. A people shaded by God amongst His servants
Certainty encompassed them so their multitude was invincible,

54. Guidance hosted their shade and before that
Its misguidance made desolate by their choice,

55. Whose ever ancestors were the Prophet’s helpers
The Seven Heavens’ supreme angels are their helpers,

56. God has made you a promise to grant victory
Its dawn after nightfall now unfolding,

57. Adversity darkened so you were its light
Guidance was obscure so you were its beacon,

58. So you are truly the vitals of Islam
And the heart of the religion its best part.

59. Shake the glory's spear of victory for he who
Thwarted you the wolf pack's tyrant,

60. The valiant one has turned from you in submission
Terrified, his arrogance surrendered in awe,

61. The Just God has made you thrive to grant you victory
And the best of people on earth grown you,

62. Raise the banner of truth high on the flag of guidance
Until it rests assured amongst the stars,

63. And enjoy the prospect of prosperity for
Fate flows with all you choose and determine,

64. In my heart's Egypt from Joseph's treasure troves
Is a love whose expression my lyrics pick and choose

65. I crafted my poem with his name so it's as if
Each drop of it carried his golden coin.
