1. The judgment of my eyelids against my heart has passed
How can I escape when my opponent is the judge?
2. Among the wonders is that the rulings of passion
Are unjust, yet I am pleased with them
3. O she who wraps her cloaks in the morning breeze
For beauty, between gardens and meadows
4. Your glances overflowing in hearts imagine them
Like arrows released to their targets
5. You created the forms of beauty with a cheek
Where you combined redness with whiteness
6. And you have stricken my heart, healthy and safe
Intentionally, with your ailing eyelids
7. Torment my heart as you wish and as you choose
Without disdain and refusal
8. And show me kindness, my doe
For I have drowned in my streaming tears
9. Come, let us take a vow of passion
As we once did in days gone by
