1. You possessed the Messenger of Allah as a healing, so who would depart?
And you granted me the most hopeful of fortunes, so who would feel joy?

2. For I had no eyelid from your absence that did not swell,
Nor a heart from your nearness that did not delight.

3. Your effort is an invitation that does not disappoint he who turns away,
And your care is a pasture that does not constrict he who roams freely.

4. My heart that harbored love for you is a ransom for you,
As what is sown in the earth deposits or is strewn about.

5. So it became a branch with a gentle breeze and blessing,
And its excuse is not void, whenever you are mentioned but it does not dance.

6. My hope in you is my request whenever sorrow wounds,
And the grieved of anguish is not equal to the wounded.

7. There was in my heart from your absence a lesion,
And my delegation did not become white-haired, nor did my years become decrepit.

8. So how could it, when sins have flowed upon it,
And I—woe is me—have not been shrouded, so when will I be shrouded?

9. You have given the noble prophets special preference,
And how vast between “My Lord, relieve” and “Did We not expand?”
