1. God of the worlds and of every land
And Lord of the mountains firmly set

2. He built them and erected seven mighty ones
With no pillars seen and no men

3. And leveled them and adorned them with light
From the shining sun and the crescent moon

4. And with shooting stars shining in their darkness
Their missiles more piercing than lances

5. And He split the earth so fountains burst forth
And rivers of fresh, sweet water did run

6. And blessed its regions and made them wholesome
With whatever was of crops and goods

7. So every long-lived being must one day perish
And he who has riches will come to decline

8. And fade after vigor and mold into ruin
Except the All-Holy, the Majestic, the Sublime

9. And the guilty will be driven naked
To the place of horrors and torment condign

10. And cry "Woe to us!" a protracted lament
Twisting in chains of enormous length

11. They are not dead to find repose
But burning in hellfire without end

12. While the righteous settle in a home of truth
And soft living in shade and delight

13. Theirs what they wish for, whatever they want
Of joys in it, perfection and height
