1. We will plant cotton and wear it as clothes
We will shear wool to warm us when fur is not enough

2. This is home, we want no other place
How cruel the land except that we disbelieved

3. God's thrust at enemies always hits its mark
It tires all doctors, no armor can stop it

4. We were created from this land, our mother was shaped from it
We are her sons, if only we were grateful

5. On the day they are herded into groups
The day of mutual loss when caution is in vain

6. Asking for water like locusts blown by the wind scattering
Brought out on a flat, vast, barren plain

7. The Throne is set down, so too the Scales and the Books
Judged for what none of them had ever reckoned

8. Some joyful, pleased with their resurrection
Others disobeyed, so Hellfire their home

9. Their keeper will say "Did no warner come to you?"
They will say "Yes, but the grandees led us astray

10. The length of this life and age deceived us"
"Stay in God's punishment. For you chains, shackles and flames"

11. And they were destroyed by targeting their rear
They could not defend or save themselves

12. Such is their life, they will not leave it
However long they stay, cry or complain

13. Others on the Heights hoping for a Garden
Encircled by pomegranates and greenery

14. On the Merciful's provision, their sins pardoned
Erasing their misdeeds and heavy burdens

15. All people are God's subjects under His control
He is the Subjugator over earth, the Veiler

16. None will remain except by God's leave
Only heaven, earth, and disbelief

17. If there were any way out, all would be shattered
Brought to life by God with iron rods

18. The learned is not like the ignorant of piety
Nor the seeing like the blind, devoid of sight

19. Ask people about what you do not know
When blindness comes, the informed can enlighten.
