1. Tolerate those whose status is less than yours,
For I see pride as a planet revolving around you.

2. Who can take away the nobility you were granted
After the people of the world rejected it?

3. The Guardian spoke of it while the envious was silenced
about describing it, and his silence was his admission.

4. So let the seeker to attain this scope know
that its path has many dangers.

5. Leadership will not reveal its secret
except to the finest whose number cannot be counted.

6. His protection is in his heart and tongue,
his right hand and left hand guard him.

7. Neither negligence dissuades him nor greed—
which commands souls to be stingy—has power over him.

8. You have a rank in courage and generosity
that leaves your enemy restless.

9. Neither Amr Al-Qais's bravery gave him a foothold,
nor Ka'b Al-Nadaa’s generosity.

10. You destroy the enemies with every reprehensible thing,
pride is yours and their burden is upon them.

11. For long you have seized it, kindling
the heads of fortified enemies aflame.

12. With the fervor that makes the educated err in its direness
and the uncultured err in his manner.

13. So glory continues for you thriving,
and humiliation and pettiness continue for your adversary.

14. Whoever schemes against you does not succeed,
rather he is lost in the currents of your power.

15. You were ransomed by one with a kingdom, busied
by his guitar strings from his guitar.

16. And the happy one is done with enmity towards you,
vexed with you even if his periods continued.

17. O son of the exalted, they do not revere their honorable
until he shelters his neighbor from calamities.

18. A people, if they carry rancor, its edges lengthen
and their lifespans shorten.

19. Their tongues carve out cries as if they are
birds and the enemies’ hearts are their nests.

20. Your family’s gifts multiplied, generous
as pilgrims multiplied their pebbles.

21. You refused to belong except as
the sword belonged next to the fright in battle.

22. And you made the stick of virtues evergreen.
By God, you are a stick whose fruits it bears.

23. A nature that encompasses every pride in its elite
and tracks down the turbid that follows it.

24. So people of insight assist it universally
and its maidens are specifically yours.

25. The Imam branished the sword of events
since the sending of the Prophet—may its brilliance return.

26. You built its state when you gave it victory,
erecting a glory that his supporters built for his grandfather.

27. You advised the state of the family of Ali with the advice of one
who nurtured revealing it secretly.

28. Al-Mansur, Ali, and Ma’ad spoke well of it
and Al-Nizar expressed it.

29. The witness witnessed these deeds that he saw in it
and the reporter’s narration was validated.

30. You prepared the Levant until its cities and wilderness
became safe within it.

31. You do not follow what you did with its people—
those you granted and they were not ungrateful.

32. Sins that err, wishes with assured beliefs,
and dew overflowing with its sea.

33. The dusty land could not contain a miser
if even a tenth of his number settled in it.

34. In the shadow of the finest, his deeds made
the people incapable and their sights fell short.

35. The assisted resolute whom no blamer can approach
nor can any critic issue him.

36. The repeating of his sword’s threats suffice him,
and his thoughts stand in for his gaze.

37. A king who resides in Damascus but his mention
is distant journeys for contemporaries.

38. He did not conceal himself from the Lord of an inquiry,
nor were curtains lowered over anything but piety.

39. Aversion from sins except that he
continues seeking forgiveness after being absent from them.

40. News of glory that darkness nearly preserved
due to the frequent telling of its entertainer.

41. Had he lived alongside Kisra, his crown and bracelet
would have been cast from it.

42. So let the pretentious despair of the status of one whose
are these merits and that, its builder.

43. The best house, if we count Hashim,
is the house you resided in and you are its finest.

44. A house that yearns for virtues—its young
are not thought to be roaming its corners.

45. It continues rising through good deeds, so is there
a station above the highest it could choose?

46. And Abu Ali translates them into the like
in every virtue, its traces are followed.

47. It did not deviate from the nobility you acquired preeminence with among creation.
So its praiser says to you, his passion toward you.

48. It gave so every generosity was rendered speechless,
its springs closed up and its rain followed.

49. It mediated so neither its loyalty's deception
harmed nor did its enemy benefit from its caution.

50. A flag pointing to it—the radiant light of its guidance—
before the fires of misguidance are ignited.

51. Luminous giver of glad tidings of richness
while the full moon is bright before its fruits.

52. It pleases you if the thoroughbreds are ridden,
dignity, and if the neighbor visits, its prestige.

53. A distasteful soul refuses pleasures
until praise of it is its potion.

54. So you saw its like with the mirror it
dazzled the eyes of your enemy with.

55. The horizon of supremacy is illuminated by them,
its crescent did not set nor its moons.

56. And praise taken prisoner, so the Lord of Creation did not decree
that the ties around it be undone.

57. It was not folded up while it erect under your rule,
and none but you can be granted its time.

58. And if I want you with praise, its closures open
and its difficulties become easy.

59. And if I hurry to your neighbor-like visitation weary,
its guards speak well of me in its goodness.

60. And musk is the first to obtain its fragrance
when its seal is opened by its perfumer.

61. Without you, poetry would be something fleeting
or an avoided school—its display refrained from.

62. You honored its resting place knowing it is
a guest the base find visiting his tomb difficult.

63. So you surrendered what the needy time
reversed in its daybreaks.

64. And you remained however long you wished to remain, to the denier
you are distinct from and the gloomy you are distinct from.
