1. Worthy of being humble is he who opposed you
And of turning back is he whom you intended to meet

2. Armenos did not dispatch his messengers to you
Until he feared the decisive separation

3. Like a camel herd scaring away actively, but when it sees
Its liveliness causing it harm, it calms down

4. His surrender to Islam was negated by his submission
After humiliation, he cloaked himself in robes

5. The opinion of Rome did not matter when they hastened
To seek safety, fearing they would be rushed

6. They came down from their kingdom, one who does not see
In their actions, a descent befitting his stature

7. And they sought this reconciliation, so they extinguished
With their submission a blazing fire

8. Their sea roared but did not care for
A sea that leaves every river a stream

9. And if the wind blew, the fervor of its blowing
Would diminish the fire of tinder by stirring up ashes

10. You focused on the sun of determination after its rising
And even if it rose upon them one time

11. You would have seen them from it as scattered dust, disregarded
In a truce which gave them a favor they refused to be ignorant of

12. Who lost the way did not succeed in his salvation
He who remained seeking other than your forgiveness as a refuge

13. So let it defeat religions without a defender
A religion you guaranteed victory by supporting

14. The messenger delivering the intentions saw
Without your palace what saddens the sent

15. An army which lofty pillars bow down humbly to
And the earth almost shakes because of it

16. Until they saw you, and whoever saw you did not refrain from
Despairing while looking upon that horde

17. And they realized what they had doubted with imagination
And saw plainly what they had imagined

18. The masters of the world sought peace from you
So their delegations became continuous at your door

19. How many came to you humiliated and you prepared them
To where they cannot endure what you enabled

20. You established glory for Islam, so let it submit to it
Through your supremacy, glory that has no cracks

21. Let no climber aspire to rise to this loftiness
A towering one, even if reaching the highest clouds

22. No, by rain does one who hopes without it hope
A downpour, even if the pouring rains flooded

23. When the caliphate approved you as support for it
Then got you to straighten what deviated

24. You became an advisor when an era twisted it
And a decisive healer when its sickness lingered

25. It will hoard obedience for shepherding what
You kept and leave the withered and worn

26. They have become in every desolate place
Scattered groups from a fire that cannot be lit

27. You brought them down to the abode of disgrace, and if they accepted
Other than your authority, they would not have taken it as a dwelling

28. And you stripped the Romans through your honor of honor
And it would have had disappointment over what escaped it

29. So frighten in its dense forests the blackened defeat, and leave
The ostriches scattered about

30. Your swords of determination, if you met
A mocker on a day of dogs with them, would return him silenced

31. And the arrows of your opinion, whenever you shot them at an enemy
They always made every limb slain

32. And let the oath breaker wear the studded necklace
And find the cross lighter than it to carry

33. And let our Master’s resolves that deserted
The flatterer who never ceased to flatter, languish

34. And let it destroy those who forsook it, though long
Its people had intended to turn away from it

35. The dawn of Syria has become an unveiling night
And the dawn in it would have been a very dark night

36. Since your might stood by it if misfortune struck it
And your generosity was its rain if the times aridified

37. So let those whose preparedness against the enemy is through you
Hope from certainty that they will not be disgraced

38. And let those whose rising ambition with attainment was to
Match your fame return disappointed and dejected

39. With such might is protected who you protect
And with such generosity ascends who you raise

40. Which of the creations has not submitted obedience to you
Which of the cities has not become with you an impenetrable refuge

41. If it were said to the days, and they are knowledgeable
Is there anyone like the victorious among the people? They would say no

42. Time wanted to expose you to all
So you volunteered to fend it off and were impartial to correct

43. You were just until you found none wronged
And you prevented until you left none reduced

44. Glory the Majestic granted you eternal
So you contained thereby the pride fully completed

45. And I see you attained praiseworthy rank
Not reached by lesser conquerors of old

46. The Levant and its inhabitants were protected
When the darkness upon it became shaded

47. A king who when he carried their burdens
Rewarded, and if he paid kindness, he was most rewarding

48. Easy upon seekers, hard to find in the world
Most generous with the awed whom you made feel at ease

49. O chosen one, the King bestowed with triumph, you have left
In this praise, to an ennobled one, no way in

50. I made it exclusive to you, so you will never see
For other than you, ever, from me made permissible

51. What could I want when all bitterness has cleared
For me through your presence, and all bitterness dissolved?

52. It suffices ambitions as your serenity pastures
And it satisfies wishes as your stream of generosity flows

53. And now your spirit has made me needless of
Other praisings, and forgot me the remembered places
