1. The world is conquered, so why this struggle?
With some of your effort, success is achieved.

2. This lofty one exhausted his limbs,
While the livers of others melted away.

3. Each day you attain the highest achievements,
Not knowing the path of glory.

4. You gain more glory, though it is not known
When people say you gain no more.

5. Attributes the kings covet and envy
Are combined in the victor’s hands.

6. Whenever he intends to meet the foe,
Numbers and preparation do not stop him.

7. From a generous family, if asked for help,
They give freely and excel in their work.

8. From every ladder to the highest positions,
His steps are always ascending.

9. When the waves of death rise high,
And their onslaught flows from the skulls' springs,

10. They fell with what they had built, for since
The glory of the Victor appeared, they neglected their buildings.

11. When a young man's deeds bring him down,
Not fathers or grandfathers raise him.

12. The Protected One stopped the foe and sufficed the enemies -
Units are turned back by his mention.

13. His armies gain from his wisdom, resolve,
And refusal to retreat at war's peak.

14. So let the enemies despair of a land
From which a trustworthy, firm sword drove them back.

15. Over Syria flies his banner held high
By the hands of knights, strong in its poles.

16. They almost corrupted the true path, so your fear
Subdued them until they nearly deserted misguidance.

17. They were lofty mountains, as if when discords shook,
The gusts of dust had made them wither.

In their hands, the spears of war grew short,

19. And the Indian swords rusted in their sheaths.
Since your sea raged and its harm swelled,

20. The seas of calumny dried up, reduced to ashes.
Without you, hypocrisy would not have retracted,

21. Nor after confusion were banners raised for religion.
Through you, the sword of polytheism became

22. Feeble with age, while the forces of Islam grew young.
Whenever you attacked the Romans in their lands,

23. Morning found them overwhelmed, calling for help.
With the transports of lions, lions of battle,

24. Unwearied by long marches or night travel.
Whenever your power is absent for a day,

25. Souls and bodies will no longer unite.
So let them fear a king whose tyranny

26. Made even mountains bow in submission.
Can the storyteller avoid death after hearing

27. How the lion of the forest takes its prey?
The Imam's sword surpassed what no ambition reached,

28. And whatever you willed was not unattainable.
While for others there is only lightning and thunder,

29. Your resolves know no turning back.
Cringing, when the enemy carves, it only finds

30. Death's meeting place between the breastbones.
The winds were still before your assault,

31. And the tent pegs shook in fear of you.
Draw the swords! For you have often unsheathed them,

32. We would say they have no more sheaths.
Take a stand! For your might has inspired awe,

33. Leaving no heart of men untouched.
Your concerns traveled, so staying is a journey,

34. Peace is war, and sleep is wakefulness.
The shelter of your travels is safety wherever you shelter,

35. And stopping the enemy is eternal holy war.
Their fires and embers burned nothing lofty,

36. So why would sparks frighten you?
When the path of error appeared to them, they took it,

37. Though they saw the roads of right guidance and deviated.
The protected one leads those whom past misguidance

38. Did not stop from his own misguidance.
They harbored hatred, so since you instilled

39. Fear of your revenge in their hearts, their grudges died.
And you flooded them with your forgiveness after

40. Many who sought your door had been turned away.
They feared devastation, so they aspired to hopes

41. In which promises and warnings come true.
Misfortune guided them after blindness -

42. Oh, how often right conduct breeds corruption!
They crossed the desert, with your face's light their guide

43. In gloom, and hope of your nearness their supplies.
You terrified them until those far away knew

44. No distance saves from your power.
You forgave until, if their exiles hoped for

45. Such pardon, they would wish they were martyrs.
This son of Jarrāḥ has come to you - and for whom

46. Do you banish but yourself do they seek?
So answer the caller with your bounty! For with you

47. Forgiveness always has its origin and return.
Meet the apology of one who confesses sin with mercy -

48. Apologies are the harvest of misdeeds.
Anger clouds the forebearing's vision, though his nature

49. Is bygone generosity, eyes overflowing.
O pillar of Islam! Who complains of thirst

50. When your rain pools are the camels' watering holes?
How often in the saddle of glory you carried

51. Misfortunes others could not bear or tame!
Kings sought refuge with you, and the poor sought shelter,

52. So opposites met in your abode.
Your place has become all-gathering and all-separating,

53. So thanks are gained and riches lost.
Containing the noble, preventing their attainment,

54. Wealth for an hour is gotten and spent.
To ransom you, the inhabitants of whole kingdoms would give

55. Their plateaus, alongside this most clement kingdom.
You are the Nuʿmān of this age, while I -

56. Whenever the Quraysh boast - add more.
No distracter can divert me from your praise;

57. For every other saying, its extent ends.
Listen to the refined poetry of your perfect order -

58. The pearls of verse and its chanting recital!
Intercede through it for those necklaces - they are

59. The finest ornaments for the noble.
And follow what your hands have rendered in praise -

60. Without you, none would have led their reins.
How can I reach for more when the palms of your bounty

61. Rain down and your fingers scatter fresh pearls?
And delight in a year whose happy clouds

62. Pour down, with your lucky star to lead them.
The shadow of one whose days delight us

63. Did not cease, with holidays in his shade.
And this kingdom remains verdant, sheltered

64. In its courtyard, with pilgrims and visitors.
You gave life to literature which you revived -

65. Elsewhere, it declines into stagnation.
