سنُ وجهه عن أن تُكيَّف
2. He has left affectation to the masses
Thus he is most graceful in his manners
٢. تركَ التصنُّع للجما
فكان أظرفَ للتّظرًُّف
3. If the full moon's face were to resemble
His face, it would not be eclipsed
٣. لو أنّ وجهَ البدرش يشب
هُ وجهَه ما كان يُكسَف
4. His temples are musk, his front teeth
Pearls, his saliva pure wine
٤. الصُّدغُ مسكٌ والثنا
يا لؤلؤٌ والرِّيقُ قَرقَف
5. And the roses from his cheeks
Are plucked by the glances' fingers
٥. والوردُ من وجناتهِ
بأنامل الألحاظِ يُقطَف
