Of sublime aspirations and successes,
١. إِلا زَمان صدقه
ذي الهمم الموفقه
2. O cloud-concealer of shame
With your rain-laden clouds,
٢. يا مخجل السحاب
بجوده السكاب
3. O most high, most generous,
Giving freely of your bounty,
٣. يا ذا العُلا وَالجود
وَالبَذل بِالمَوجود
4. Sovereign of the age,
Keeper of the Quran,
٤. وَملك الزمان
وَصاحب القرآن
5. Granter of thousands upon thousands,
Breacher of ranks,
٥. وَواهب الأُلوف
وَخارق الصفوف
6. Maker of reconciliations,
Subduer of lances,
٦. وَمَعمل الصفاح
وَظالم الرماح
7. O universal giver of gifts,
O just judge,
٧. يا ذا العَطايا الشامِله
يا ذا القَضايا العادِله
8. O pure-natured one,
O rightly-guided patron,
٨. يا ذا السجايا الزاكيه
يا ذا المَساعي الهادِيه
9. O noble pride,
O lofty favour,
٩. يا ذا الفخار السامي
يا ذا النوال الهامي
10. O sheltering shades,
O encompassing shadows.
١٠. يا ذا البَنان الواكفه
يا ذا الظلال الوارِفه
11. Without you, virtue would have died,
Without you, time would have encompassed all,
١١. لَولاك ماتَ الفَضل
لَولاك عَم الأزل
12. Without you, mankind would have died,
Without you, misery would have spread.
١٢. لَولاك ماتَ الناس
لَولاك عَم الباس
13. Without you, manners would have vanished,
Without you, the Arabs would have been disgraced,
١٣. لَولاك لَم يرع الأَدب
لَولاك لَم تحم العَرَب
14. Without you, generosity would have waned
And delegations been scorned,
١٤. لَولاك غاض الجود
وَاِحتقر الوفود
15. Without you, no magnanimity would have existed,
Without you, debts of honour would have ceased,
١٥. لولاك ما كان كَرم
لَولاك لَم ترع الذمم
16. Without you, the age would have been mean,
Without you, gallantry would have died,
١٦. لَولاك جار الدهر
لَولاك ماتَ الحر
17. Without you, hopes would have been dashed,
Without you, the supplicant would have been turned away.
١٧. لَولاك خاب الآمل
لولاك رَد السائل
18. Without you, greed could not have been believed,
Without you, the community would have been blamed.
١٨. لَولاك لَم يصدق طَمع
لولاك ذمت النجع
19. May you remain, blessed in your prosperity,
Supported in your knowledge,
١٩. بَقيت مَحسود النعم
وَدُمت مَنصور العلم
20. Among nights in your sanctuary
Where star on star has risen,
٢٠. من الليالي في حرم
ما لاح نجم وَنجم
21. Enduring through the days,
Aided by your standards,
٢١. تَبقى عَلى الأَيام
مؤيد الأَعلام
22. In an eternal state,
And a renewed favour.
٢٢. في دَولَةٍ مخلده
وَنعمة مجدده
