1. What pleasure is there in death's novelty, O mortal
Every novelty, its aspects bring delight
١. ما لِجَديدِ المَوتِ يا بِشرُ لَذَّةٌ
وَكُلُّ جَديدٍ تُستَلَذُّ طَرائِفُه
2. So no harm, God has led me, O mortal
To a land, where I dwelled with its successors
٢. فَلا ضَيرَ إِنَّ اللَهَ يا بِشرُ ساقَني
إِلى بَلَدٍ جاوَرتُ فيهِ خَلائِفُه
3. So I'm not one whom death has made fearful
Even if life turns away in earnest
٣. فَلَستُ وَإِن عَيشٌ تَوَلّى بِجازِعٍ
وَلا أَنا مِمّا حَمَّمَ المَوتُ خائِفُه
