Is our glory in religion and lineage

Leave us shackled by eras

5. Before a homeland is destroyed
And a neighbor raids with plunder

6. So when, O Egypt, will knowledge
Cure us, reaching us through books?

7. When will you heal our illnesses
With genius chosen from you?

8. When will you unite a brother
To you in high ranks?
