1. Upon him the looseness of the robes flowing,
As though light itself had wandered through its folds,
١. عَلَيهِ فَضفاضَةُ الأُردانِ ضافِيَةً
كَأَنَّما جالَ في أَرجائِها النُّوَرُ
2. The spear point turns away from him, chipped and broken,
The sword bends back from him, even when sharpened and ready.
٢. يَفىءُ عَنها سِنانُ الرُمحِ مُنثَلِماً
وَيَنثَني السَيفُ عَنها وَهُوَ مَطرورُ
