1. The miser and the generous prevent me
And neither of them is my helper
١. يَمْنَعُني بَاخِلٌ وَسَمْحٌ
وَليسَ لي مِنهُما نَصِيرُ
2. My utmost is to blame my luck
And my fate is the short wall
٢. وَغَايَتي أَنْ أَلُومَ حَظّي
وَحَظِّيَ الحَائِطُ القَصِيرُ
