1. Since that waist complained of my injustice,
I have hoped for tenderness from it.
١. مُذْ رَقَّ ذاكَ الخَصْرُ مِن ظالمِي
رَجَوْتُ مِنهُ رِقَّةَ الرَّاحِمِ
2. And since it complained of the tyranny of its hips,
I have feared to invoke curses on my oppressor.
٢. وَمُذْ تَشكَّى جَوْرَ أَرْدافهِ
أَشْفَقْتُ أَنْ أَدْعُو على ظالمِي
