1. The writer endures the eternal one who
The mountains almost bow to him

١. يُقَاسي الأديبُ الأَدِيمَ الذي
تَكادُ الجِبالُ لهُ تَخْضَعُ

2. And he appears on the day of his enlightenment
So no eyelid rests for him

٢. وَيبرُزُ في يومِ نَوْ روزهِ
فَما يَسْتَرِيحُ لهُ أَخْدَعُ

3. And if he wanted to solve the knot of his soul
There would be no room in it for him

٣. وَلوَ رامَ حَلَّ قَفَا نَفسهِ
لَمَا كانَ فيهِ لهُ مَوْضِعُ

4. And his friends, each the length of a forearm
Are fingers of his palm of hands

٤. وأصْحابُهُ كُلُّ عَبْلِ الذِّراعِ
أَصَابِعُ راحتهِ أَذْرُعُ

5. Much flirting with a friend
With what is under his shirt enthralled

٥. كَثيرُ مُداعَبةٍ لِلصَّدِيقِ
بِما تَحتَ جُمَّتهِ مَولَعُ

6. So there is no restrainer of his palm
But his bald friend

٦. فَليسَ لِراحتهِ حَابِسٌ
ولكنَّ صَاحِبَهُ الأَقْرَعُ
