1. I complained of a fire raging within
She said all lamps are this way
١. شَكَوْتُ لَها لَهَباً في الحَشَى
فَقالتْ وَكُلُّ سِرَاجٍ كَذَا
2. I asked why then does she keep me at bay
She said, your flames may lead me astray
٢. فَقُلْتُ وَلِمْ تُبعِيدني إذاً
فقالتْ بِنارِك أَخْشَى الأَذَى
