1. My goat fled my home on my feast day
Look and see, is this fortunate one done?
2. She scorned me when she saw I had a kitchen
White as the plaster of Waleed
3. And faces of my children turned
No longer white and pots no longer black
4. Why don't you flee from us
Even if we had her tied in ropes
5. Where are my feasts with their meat
Roasting between embers and coals
6. And my sacrifices which with their blood
Unjustly I smeared on the cheek of the ground
7. Those were my days which were led
By the generosity of the shining sun of the faith, O days of my return
