1. You are the son of Hamdan, whose manners
The son of Hamdan is credited for them and his perception.
١. أَنتَ ابنُ حَمْدانَ الذي آدابُهُ
يُعْزَى ابنُ حَمْدانٍ لها وفِراسُهُ
2. And the poet Al-Kindi, if not for his pride
By you, O son of Hamdan, his head would be bowed.
٢. والشَّاعِرُ الكِنْدِيُّ لولا فَخْرُهُ
بِكَ ياابنَ حَمدانٍ لَنُكِّسَ راسُهُ
