1. O spring that God has adorned
The garden of the world and protected from autumn

2. And a ray that God has extended
Upon this nation, cities and countryside

3. O endless blessing
We are in your shade, city and countryside

4. O noble of soul and heart for us
In you is the clear word and noble poetry

5. O father of tenderness, nothing equals it
The tenderness of a caring father

6. A tenderness that descends from its loftiness
Like the soft light of the gracious moon

7. Poetry wishes for an unattainable ideal
And is helpless with feeble reach

8. Whenever it attempts the ideal
Its gaze falls short of the lofty palace

9. O lamp, we gathered around it
Like moths fluttering around the light

10. O shelter, we came around it
Like a breeze in the shelter, rustling softly

11. I sing for them, so listen
To the warbling of the flute, intimate whispering
