1. Send forth your eloquent outpouring
And stand in Jerusalem proclaiming it

2. We shall secure rights if we are called
Is not the East our protective shelter?

3. Greetings of God from Egypt's children
To the land of bravery and chivalry

4. From the cradle that shook the wilds
To the cradle of holiness and prophecy

5. From the noble homeland throughout the nights
To the noble homeland throughout the neighborhood

6. From the peerless fertile valley
To the valley crowned with dignity

7. Its edges had softened until
I saw the mountain turn green

8. Grandeur overflowed upon it as though
It wore a gown of light

9. The enchanting winds blow upon it
As though their scent were Moses' breath

10. And life shimmers on the hilltops
As though Jesus' palm were on the land

11. And you see the glory of Islam in it
Having flooded the cities and expanses

12. So wherever you turn your eyes around
Muhammad's light filled the spaces

13. We celebrated in your homeland one feast day
After we had parted from Egypt on a visit

14. We found with you a thousand feasts
That made us forget loved ones and homes

15. How many cheerless nights have passed
And how many festivals pass by unseen by God

16. How can feasts be sweet and pleasing
To one whose mouth is forbidden and bitter?

17. How can feasts be sweet and pleasing
When visiting and gathering are difficult?

18. For a feast is a feast the day
When understanding and brotherhood bring us close

19. My Jerusalem folk, my heart appealed
With perseverance through adversities unconcerned

20. I see the spirit of life overflowing in you
And your determination overflowing over the nights

21. I find hope and heart wherever I walk
And I stumble upon life when I meet you

22. Until one of you told me you have
At the edge of the earth a sea, and it is dead

23. We went out yesterday in a great caravan
To fulfill what was required of us

24. But when we had all reached it
And the caravan stopped at the seashore

25. I wondered at one who calls this dead
And I said, by my Lord this is shameful

26. Should I call dead one who revives us smiling
And on its flanks life shines?

27. We alighted happily on its banks
Butterflies hovering and hopping

28. One could almost drink it in delight
As though its salt had turned to sweet

29. Longing, I rose to convey from me
The generous one's greetings to the generous

30. And if I thank a hand of yours extended
It is the great one's to the great
