1. At Al-Firaz we met hordes of Romans,
And Persians, worn down by protracted truce.

2. We mustered all our forces when we met them,
And bivouacked with the Banu Rizam.

3. Not for an instant did the peace troops rest
Until we made those hordes like docile sheep.
