1. She rose above the dew of the depths and descended
From the thirsty and became self-sufficient with her watering
١. تَرَفَّعَت عَن نَدى الأَعماقِ وَاِنخَفَضَت
عَنِ المَعاطِشِ وَاِستَغنَت بِسُقياها
2. The jujube and the olive shaded her lower half
And the palm and pomegranate extended her upper half
٢. فَاِعتَمَّ بِالطَلحِ وَالزَيتونِ أَسفَلَها
وَمادَ بِالنَخلِ وَالرُمّانِ أَعلاها
3. And he who used to spurn her now envies her
A critic, whose criticism of her he now desires
٣. وَصارَ يَحسُدُهُ مَن كانَ يَعذِلُهُ
وَلائِمٌ لامَ فيها قَد تَمَنّاها
4. O Abu Mu'awiyah, thank the Bountiful Giver
And whenever you come to it, populate its mosque
٤. أَبا مُعاوِيَةَ اِشكُر فَضلَ واهِبِها
وَكُلَّما جِئتَها فَاِعمُر مُصلّاها
