1. I came pleading at Your door, o Bestower
And with anguish of ordeal my efforts strengthened

2. At Your door, o Bestower, my desire purified
And my hopes were watered and my quest descended

3. My toil is the toil of those who struggle and my state
By Your knowledge, so heal my weakness and remedy my illness

4. Your blessings, o Allah, without any trick
Continuous they seem, and my best means

5. Your bestowal, o Bestower, has no hindrance
No motives, and no compensation

6. You are The Open Handed, The True, who bestows unrestricted
None bestows from mankind except You, o The All-Bountiful

7. How can a bestowal occur from one You have possessed
Who has no partnership with You in that possession

8. Nor is it fitting for one to bestow without owning
Nor is the bestowal dependent on causality

9. The bestowal, in truth, belongs only to the Bestower
Rich, Eternal, All-Possessing, every nature’s Creator

10. My God, bestow on me from Your blessings independence
From mankind inwardly and in my dependence on them

11. My God, bestow on me an intimacy of mercy
For all independence is in intimate mercy
