1. Great sorrow has surrounded me, and You, O Gentle One, Full of Gentleness, solve my sorrow.
You were gentle, but Your holiness is too lofty to grasp, in this world and the next.

2. You were gentle and grasped all of creation equally, whether hidden or manifest.
You were gentle and arranged all affairs purely out of goodness and mercy.

3. Your gentleness in Your actions is beyond counting, my Master, to all creation.
You were gentle in making easy the difficult, mending the broken, and relieving great worries.

4. My God who hides gentleness, reach the hidden gentleness to Your servant who is tested.
You were gently hidden from me, so You veiled me, guided me gently, and perfected Your blessing upon me.

5. Hardships attacked and doubt weakened my resolve.
Even Your slightest gentleness, O Gentle One, outweighs my afflictions, if I put them on the scales.

6. By the mysteries of God's gentleness in His dominion and kingdom, O Gentle One, be gentle with my stumbling.
