1. Our loved ones, we cannot bear the distance,
Though it is part of the eternal decree.

2. Our loved ones, though you are far,
We hold fast to our bonds of purity, do not let them slip.

3. We thirst for meeting you, and burn with sorrow,
Were it not for endurance, the mountains would melt from its heat.

4. You are our destination, and our resting place,
While we remain thirsty, clinging to hope.

5. So we find solace in memories, though they do not avail,
Except to kindle our hearts more than flames.

6. They stir the wounds of longing and grief,
And memories reopen them when they start to heal.

7. May the gentle breezes of our Lord’s mercy
Bring about the gathering of those parted.

8. And may the gardens of fellowship bloom,
Watered by rains of God’s compassion.

9. To quench the thirst of the enamored, after their pining,
And bring water near to them, for drinking and healing.

10. Our loved ones, none can control their fate,
Nor evade destiny through any trickery.

11. We want stability, joy, and friendship,
But that is not up to our devices.

12. The Merciful has ordained the affairs of His servants,
So cease your “if only” or “when” or “perhaps”.

13. He plans as He wills, and this is wisdom,
Though to eyes it seems narrow and constricted.

14. Ours is to accept what He decrees,
And welcome the sweet and the bitter.
