1. You knew my distress, my Lord, and my pleading,
And my tongue spread, O Responder, with my prayer.

2. And man's despair is nothing but his nature,
And of the most difficult passions is the bending of nature.

3. Unless the evil is unveiled and the promise fulfilled,
You promised, O Lord, the truth of necessity.

4. My God, with what you inspired me and opened for me,
By your grace, my Lord, from my prayer and praise.

5. I saw behind the opening, an opening your power predetermined,
And if my soul deluded me in the captivity of my prayer,

6. And postponing what you delayed in answering,
Is a policy of managing what is best for me.

7. And the eye of my prayer, my Master, is mercy from you,
That gives me permission, rather the eye of my necessity.

8. And any affliction other than your justice is a blessing,
Even if the souls of the righteous are weary of it.

9. My God, I did not despair of the soul and loyalty,
Even if the decree doubled the measure of my misery.

10. My God, my call has no barrier from you,
And before my call, you conceal my solitude.

11. My God, be good in answering, if I
Was wrong in my prayer, my endeavor, and my desire.
