1. The blessed one wept in the wake of Ibn Abbad
He wept over the trace of gazelles and lions
١. بَكى المُبارَكُ في إِثرِ ابن عَبّادِ
بَكى عَلى أَثر غِزلانٍ وَآسادِ
2. Its Pleiades wept, their stars not clouded
With the weeping of Pleiades, the passing wind
٢. بَكَت ثُرَيّاهُ لا غُمَّت كَواكِبُها
بِمِثلِ نَوءِ الثرَيّا الرائح الغادي
3. The lonely one wept, the thriving one wept, and his dome
The river and the crown, all their humility manifest
٣. بَكىَ الوَحيدُ بَكى الزاهي وَقُبَّتُهُ
وَالنَهرُ وَالتاجُ كُلٌّ ذُلُّهُ بادي
4. The rain of the sky over his sons is pearls
O sea foam forever with ebb and flow
٤. ماءُ السَماءِ عَلى أَبنائِهِ دُرَرٌ
يا لُجَّةَ البَحرِ دومي ذاتَ إِزبادِ
