1. For God what the vulture etched in my liver
For whom tomorrow and the dew are like the soul and body
١. لِلَّهِ ما خَلَدُ الأَمحاضِ في خَلَدي
لِمَن غَدا وَالنَدى كالروحِ وَالجَسَدِ
2. The unique, my father of the army which my hands
Victoriously seized from him the best souls among people
٢. الأَوحَديّ أَبي الجَيشِ الَّذي ظَفَرَت
مِنهُ بِأَنفَسِ عِلقٍ في الأَنامِ يَدي
3. The wise in opinion among the banners, his pleasure
Is in seriousness and generosity, not in an easy life
٣. مُوَفِّقُ الرأي في الراياتِ لَذَّتُهُ
في الجَدِّ وَالجودِ لا في العَيشَةِ الرَغَدِ
4. When the highs see him, they call him eloquently
O delight of the eye! Nay, O piece of the liver
٤. إِذا رأتهُ العُلا نادَتهُ مُفصِحَةً
يا قُرَّةَ العَينِ بَل يا فَلذَةَ الكَبِدِ
