1. They lit a fire between your ribs,
Prolonging with it the allegory in your love.

2. Does not glory feel ashamed
That they have banished you,

3. Not even providing you a humbled tent?
They have contented glory, if that is so,

4. And shame on them for disgracing you.
It is too little for your eyes

5. That they have made the darkness of the eyes a sign upon you.
You see how when you traversed the deserts

6. Yearning for them and crossed the seas,
With a covenant of adherence to the paths of loyalty—

7. If one deviates from it, he is treacherous—

16. The rigid spears bow before you
And the cheeks blush red.

17. When you kindle the fire of your war,
We reckon the sparks in it to be embers.

18. You will find your actions on the day of judgement
scattering musk because of you.

19. And for the martyrs there is praise upon you
For the excellence of your stance that day,

20. And that through you they rejoice
That you neither fear nor are harmed,
