١. إِنّي رأيتُكِ في المَنام ضَجيعَتي
وَكَأَنَّ ساعِدَك الوَثيرَ وِسادي
2. As if you were embracing me, confiding what
I confide from my love and my long wakefulness.
٢. وَكأَنَّما عانَقتِني وَشكَوتِ ما
أَشكوهُ مِن وَجدي وَطول سُهادي
3. And as if I kissed your lips and your cheeks
And attained my desire from you.
٣. وَكأَنَّني قَبّلتُ ثَغرَكِ وَالطلى
وَالوَجنَتَينِ وَنِلتُ مِنك مُرادي
4. And I love you - if your image did not visit me
In the darkness, I would not have tasted sleep's sweetness.
٤. وَهَواكِ لَولا أنَّ طَيفَكِ زائِرٌ
في الغَبّ لي ما ذُقتُ طَعمَ رُقادي
