1. When God renews a blessing for me
I give thanks, and am not seen as ungrateful,

2. And God does not cease to return
To one who gives generously.

3. O you who hoards wealth and buried it
For other than you, since you will not last,

4. If you say "I hoard it for my sons"
The son may precede the father in death.

5. And if you say "I fear the vicissitudes of fate"
Then be as one with its twists and turns.
