1. You led the sons of the country astray with verses
You filled the hearts of the oblivious with misguidance

2. So turn away from deep ignorance, for rarely
Does the ignorant reap any wealth from ignorance

3. We are innocent of your protection, to Him who
Protects the lions and keeps the cubs safe

4. You tried to stir up strife in our hearts
For Egypt's king, but that was impossible

5. Then you armed the youth for his war
And they saw in your lies a vain narcissist

6. They dethroned you and turned to you for leadership
But if trouble arose, they'd turn their backs
