1. In the two flowers of this fragrant wood
Are combined the traits of those who love -

2. Like two lovers meeting
Yet on the beds of plants.

3. Making friendly, from every side
They meet love.

4. This leaning on that,
And so to this one’s glancing.

5. But at dawn of life
And at midday for them is death.

6. Alas, they lived and never hoped
A hope, so it passed.

7. If only I had a market for life
Where one could say, take and bring -

8. Then I'd sell a lifetime of worries
For an hour of pleasures.
