1. God has granted the people of Paris goodness
And I see that intellect is the best thing they were given
١. رَزَقَ اللَهُ أَهلَ باريسَ خَيراً
وَأَرى العَقلَ خَيرَ ما رُزِقوهُ
2. They have an exhibition of fruits and flowers that
The earth produces which they have arranged
٢. عِندَهُم لِلثِمارِ وَالزَهرِ مِمّا
تُنجِبُ الأَرضُ مَعرِضٌ نَسَقوهُ
3. A garden that captivates minds and a meadow
That brings together what the eye has scattered
٣. جَنَّةٌ تَخلِبُ العُقولَ وَرَوضٌ
تَجمَعُ العَينُ مِنهُ ما فَرَقوهُ
4. Whoever sees it says they have been deprived of happiness
Yet with their magic they have stolen it
٤. مَن رَآهُ يَقولُ قَد حُرِموا الفِر
دَوسَ لَكِن بِسِحرِهِم سَرَقوهُ
5. You won't see vines that are so well matched
That even if the irrigators saw them they wouldn't believe them
٥. ما تَرى الكَرمَ قَد تَشاكَلَ حَتّى
لَو رَآهُ السُقاةُ ما حَقَّقوهُ
6. It intoxicates the onlookers with vines yet
No hand has squeezed it nor freed it
٦. يُسكِرُ الناظِرينَ كَرماً وَلَمّا
تَعتَصِرهُ يَدٌ وَلا عَتَّقوهُ
7. They pictured it as they wished until
People were amazed at how they didn't make it speak
٧. صَوَّروهُ كَما يَشاؤونَ حَتّى
عَجِبَ الناسُ كَيفَ لَم يُنطِقوهُ
8. The pious find God's hand in it
Yet the unbeliever says they created it
٨. يَجِدُ المُتَّقي يَدَ اللَهِ فيهِ
وَيَقولُ الجَحودُ قَد خَلَقوهُ
