1. I see a tree in the sky that hid away,
And broke the reins in amazing display,

2. Minarets erected here and there,
Their features, steps made with great care,

ูุช ูููุง ุฃูู ูููุงูู
ุธููุงููุฑููุง ุฏูุฑูุฌู ู
ูู ุดูุฐูุจ
3. No men make the call to prayer in them,
But sunsets cry out as dusk makes its hymn,
ูฃ. ูููููุณู ููุคูุฐูููู ูููุง ุงูุฑูุฌุงูู
ููููููู ุชูุตูุญู ุนูููููุง ุงูุบูุฑูุจ
4. And tall ones amid daughters of sands,
Grew and nurtured in shades of dunes.

ูู ุจููุงุชู ุงูุฑูู

ูุช ููุฑูุจูุช ูู ุธููุงูู ุงูููุซูุจ
5. Like ship masts or caravansโ flags,
Or lighthouses beyond the crags,

ูุณูู
ููุฉู ุฃูู ููุงููููุงุฑู ููุฑุงุกู ุงูุนูุจูุจ
6. Swaying short and tall behind a dune,
When the wind blows or goes immune.
ูฆ. ุชูุทููู ููุชููุตูุฑู ุฎูููู ุงูููุซูุจู
ุฅูุฐุง ุงูุฑูุญู ุฌุงุกู ุจููู ุฃูู ุฐูููุจ
7. Appearing like flames at dawnโs first light,
With dawnโs rays or cloudsโ fringes bright,
ูง. ุชูุฎุงูู ุฅูุฐุง ุงูุชููููุฏูุช ูู ุงูุถูุญู
ููุฌูุฑูู ุงูุฃูุตููู ุนูููููุง ุงูููููุจ
8. And Pharaohโs summering consort on a yard,
Of the palace, waiting and on guard,
ูจ. ููุทุงูู ุนูููููุง ุดูุนุงุนู ุงููููุงุฑู
ู
ููู ุงูุตูุญูู ุฃูู ู
ูู ุญููุงุดู ุงูุณูุญูุจ
9. Adorned with carnelian necklaces fine,
Joined with pieces of gold that shine,
ูฉ. ููุตูููุฉู ููุฑุนูููู ูู ุณุงุญูุฉู
ู
ููู ุงูููุตุฑู ูุงููููุฉู ุชูุฑุชูููุจ
10. And pearls around her neck descended,
And silk around her waist upended,
ูกู . ููุฏู ุงูุนุชูุตูุจูุช ุจูููุตูุตู ุงูุนููููู

ูููุตููููุฉู ุจูุดูุฐูุฑู ุงูุฐูููุจ
11. From her head to toes in a sash knitted,
Is this the palm tree, meadowsโ prince,

ูุฑุฌุงูููุง
ุนููู ุงูุตูุฏุฑู ููุงูุชููุดูุญูุช ุจูุงูููุตูุจ
12. Master of fields, dunesโ bride to convince,
Food of poor and candy of rich,
ูกูข. ููุดูุฏููุช ุนููู ุณุงูููุง ู
ูุฆุฒูุฑุงู
ุชูุนููููุฏู ู
ูู ุฑูุฃุณููุง ูููุฐูููุจ
13. Travelersโ and emigrantsโ cache.
Oh palm tree of the sand, you never stint,
ูกูฃ. ุฃูููุฐุง ูููู ุงูููุฎูู ู
ูููู ุงูุฑููุงุถู
ุฃูู
ูุฑู ุงูุญููููู ุนูุฑูุณู ุงูุนูุฒูุจ
14. Nor do palms of dust their yield stint,
Most wondrous is how your fame waned,
ูกูค. ุทูุนุงู
ู ุงูููููุฑู ููุญูููู ุงูุบูููููู
ููุฒุงุฏู ุงูู
ูุณุงููุฑู ููุงูู
ูุบุชูุฑูุจ
15. As Arab poets no more remained,
Is it not so wrong poetry devoid,
ูกูฅ. ูููุง ููุฎููุฉู ุงูุฑูู

ุชูุจุฎููู
ูููุง ููุตููุฑูุช ููุฎููุงุชู ุงูุชูุฑูุจ
16. Of describing you, books occulted.
You are, in emigrants, shady and grand,
ูกูฆ. ููุฃูุนุฌูุจู ููููู ุทููู ุฐููุฑูููููู

ููุญุชูููู ุดูุนูุฑุงุกู ุงูุนูุฑูุจ
17. As though your tops touch the cloudsโ stand,
You are, in the desert, ewe that feeds many a mouth,

18. Besides another, milking throughout,
You are, in the mansionsโ yards, beautiful columns, adorning the wide.

19. Your yields, in taste, are of generosity wide,
