1. You composed an article, collected and comprehended,
That came in pursuit of the truth and purpose.

2. It quenched our thirst and warded off from us,
And you fulfilled the ultimate obligation.

3. So your arrows continued hitting their mark,
Despite the slander and scheming.

4. For in the heart of Al-Muqtam we read,
Lines written by the pen of misguidance.

5. And in the heart of Al-Mu'ayyad we recited,
By the grace of God, verses of guidance.

6. Al-Muqtam saddens us every day,
And disturbs us by declaring protection.

7. And warns us of woe after woe,
Upon woe, as the son of Daihah wails.

8. So wait, O philosopher of evil, wait,
For every situation has an end.

9. Al-Mu'ayyad has uncovered your veil,
And shown the defects of the narrator.

10. So take on a role other than this, and know
That the Lord has cut off your salary.
