1. They say I have not visited Aliya and her sister
And forget Hussein while Hussein is generous

2. So I said my heart has room for the three
They are my pleasure and Hussein is my essence

3. Three reasons for my delight and pleasure
In them, my Giver blesses me and perpetuates

4. If I were to favor one over the others
My fair and merciful heart would refuse

5. I love the little ones for their sake
And my heart is tender to the orphaned child

6. My two darling girls when they approach
Give life and bounty to my living

7. The boy’s wit I wish for is his adornment
His face brings joy to all who see his beauty

8. As for Ali, he is youthful like Christ
Dignified, though the little ones make mischief

9. Before Hussein spoke, he was breastfed
And did not attain Ali's eloquence while an infant

10. When he babbles, he is a poet
If he speaks seriously, then he is wise

11. Little songbird of the Lord's garden, may He protect and maintain you
For you have created with a knowing heart
