1. One day the fox came to the Prophet
And said: "O my Master, I am a sinner

2. My book of deeds has been blackened by sins
If I find an intercessor I will repent

3. So ask your God for His great forgiveness
For a repentant who has come humbly

4. Though I have lived an evil life
Doing both good and evil

5. One day a rabbit came
To graze and play beneath my home

6. With no one watching over him
Yet I let him be

7. Spurning the base desire to eat him
He suffered no harm from me

8. That rabbit sat in the gathering
Hearing what the fox had to say

9. When the fox finished speaking
The rabbit spoke up and said

10. "That self-restraint, you wicked beast
While death's door was open before you
