1. Abbas shone upon his people
As if he were Al-Ma'mun in his procession

2. He visited his subjects and enriched them
Saving them from the futility of rain and fertility

3. And the country rejoiced, greeting him in
The safety of the year and the drought

4. Passing by them, while the land was in a garden
Whose spring was boastful in its beauty

5. He added goodness to its goodness
And eased their lives, so greetings to him

6. Damnah shook with its inhabitants
And yearning shook it to be near him

7. So it set out, striving to reach the presence
That has no equal on land

8. Hoping for acceptance, so it may quench its thirst
From a freshwater source it craves

9. O wearer of the two crowns, live in peace
God's eye protects you from his veil
