4. And if people are a necklace of friendship
None who envied or betrayed could obtain any of it

5. And I see knowledge as equal to worship in
Its farthest goals, nearer to God

6. Vast and easy, it sends the mind therein
Whoever doubted for a moment or suspected

7. Did we ask Abu Al-‘Alaa’ even if sadness
Struck the eye in the world of existence and forgot

8. How can one who doesn’t know birds, babble about their Creator
Whether it cried or sang, he wouldn’t know

9. You are like the sun, fluttering, and the heavens
A porch, and the galaxy a platter

10. If you hid, you would be like an honored dome
A train of glory and our pillar

11. If you were a house of reward and righteousness
How could you allow evil to join you

12. Do not count the years, if the mention of knowledge
For you do not know an age limit for knowledge

13. The nights will end on your field
While it remains eternal, it will not perish

14. O Ukaz, which gathered the youth and the eloquent
Qurashis in the gatherings as our tongues

15. They sowed in the bosom of God a light
From darkness upon the sights it extinguished

16. They taught with eloquence, no strangers among them
Ever, nor mute foreigners

17. Righteous young men who did not abandon knowledge hoping
Nor the teacher expecting

18. They ripped apart the darkness that descended on the countryside
And illuminated the flatlands and mountains

19. Whoever passed away among them, his thoughts dispersed
In deterring the youth or preoccupying minds

20. Call the House of Knowledge if you will, O settler
Or call it if you will, O our pillar

21. Tell it: O daughter of the blessed, indeed
Its affairs have gone favorably, as its name

22. He is alive in festivals, martyred
His excellence sprouting, how can I deny?

23. And he is at the wedding, whether veiled or not
The groom's father, happy

24. What was mentioned calling your name, until
Tears paused in sorrows, so it praised

25. Blessings filled with joy from it
Reminding the good, so it stirred sorrow

26. I know, for He built you
A fortress over the enemy’s snout to the letter a protector

27. The King’s wall with schools if you will
Or with fortresses if you will, he builds

28. Look at the people, do you see any meaning for a life
That disabled the vitality of mention?

29. Not the rich man in men failed the merit and its sovereignty, nor status made independent
How many roamed the land but did not make it theirs

30. If they stayed or traveled heavily burdened
Lived but no eye pitied him, and perished

31. Neglected, no eulogy lent him an ear
God organized His kingdom with intellectual servants

32. Who inherited the kingdom beauty
They preoccupied the envious ones with glories

33. Indeed, only the great are envied and bashed
The bright minded bequeaths knowledge

34. Or the innovator of imagination creates art
How old like a star fragment authentic

35. The new ones did not decrease its value
And steel it differs over the ages

36. And time perishes a generation after a generation
So retain both treasuries together

37. The habit of the prudent, to care for treasures
O youth, offer me pure affection

38. And offer my detractor more rancor
Whenever my hair turns grey, recite it

39. So it returns vigorous and flexible
The poet’s family, the reciters, and their quality

40. And man is concerned with kin
They are stingy in life with what was said

41. And flexible in life, most patient
And if he passes and they prepare him

42. No brother or son of reciters misses him
Genius, genius, until you raise the banner of knowledge

43. Like the crescent, and sturdiest
We are in the image of kingdoms, as long as

44. Knowledge and teacher were not our pillars
Do not call the citadels and ships, and call on

45. Knowledge to build citadels and ships for you
If the ship of civilization tore through the land

46. And cleaved the sky, wind, and downpour
And we followed it like dust, neither firm

47. On the saddle, nor tightly pulling the reins
Our ancestors tamed time

48. And tamed the daily changing of fate
How we boast about the grave of a dead man and how much

49. We carry ruin but did not build ourselves
It would be shameful to say we, and not
