1. What happened on the ship did not align,
With the lies of the ape against Prophet Noah.

2. For he was at the farthest edge of the deck,
Yearning lightheartedly to jest.

3. He cried, “O birds and fish!
For a wave that would bring about my demise.”

4. So the Prophet sent him eagles,
And they found him playing, delighted.

5. Then again he screamed,
“Our ship is punctured, O Noah!”

6. So the Prophet sent all who were present,
But they did not see the danger the ape saw.

7. While the fool was playing one day,
The ship sailed away with him on the water.

8. They heard him in the dark lamenting,
Saying, “I am lost, O Noah!”

9. “I have fallen in the water from my folly,
And am now between the earth and sky.”

10. But no one believed his screaming,
And it was said, “This is true impudence!”

11. One who preceded said in this regard,
“The greater the liar's lie, even if he speaks the truth.”

12. He whom the vice of lying has possessed,
God does not forgive, nor does the Prophet absolve.
