A chapter considered of literature

2. In it, increase of excellence
And fulfilling a due right

3. And volunteering merit from
A well-mannered one who heeds the cause

4. The manners of the predecessors went ahead, so there is no wonder
In one who challenges them

5. The praiser is no critic
If he does not seek out a fault

6. The praiser's eye does not pass
Over shortcomings and doubt

7. It covers the mines, not seeing
In its wings anything but gold

8. A collection of Tawfiq I love
More than ripe dates under shells

9. And which from a singer
In its branch stirs pleasure

10. Between the breeze and verses
Of the composer - kinship is attributed to it

11. And if he gestures with praise
He exalts virtues and merit

12. And if he aims at the contours of censure
I say: vigor and vitality

13. So read it and wait for more
Of wit and choice morsels

14. Do not rush upon the meadow
Until the clouds saturate it
