1. O Hussein, if you are in a strange land
Live by its customs and ways

2. Do not impose your morals arrogantly
For every tribe has its own ethics and norms

3. If the son of Abu Talib had acted
With such wisdom, victory would be ours

4. But he obeyed God's command
And tore them apart with his fangs

5. Do not fret over worldly wishes
What is destined will come your way

6. Do not revel in false hopes
Or despair when luck is astray

7. Judge the morrow by the past
So you may find peace of mind
